....and the weekend is gone.
it's almost like i'm back in school.
except instead of studying i get to blog and have "family ties" on in the background.
i am the only one in our house who is not in school this year.
oh, and i will be the only one not in school in our house until my husband graduates in 3 more years!
a little strange to think about it that way.
i need to start my spanish studies and daily scripture study.
i've slacked for way too long.
and maybe if i write that on here it will motivate me.
this weekend was great.
low-key, but filled with fun, family and friends.
saturday morning started with a baby shower for a sweet gal from church.
it's her first (and a boy) and i am so excited for them.
makes me think back to all the excitement of having paisley.
we played some fun games.
*i'm kind of a nerd and really LOVE baby shower games.
-i won 3 times on the baby word matching game.
this was in the host's kitchen (a full wall) and i absolutely loved it.
she used chalkboard paint and there is another section around the corner where she uses it as a grocery list.
i'm not so sure matt would go for it though.
after the shower i met up with matt who had spent the morning on a bike ride with his dad and then to a law society lunch.
we went boating.
it was a gorgeous day and the lake had just enough traffic to make it interesting without being overcrowded.
it's seriously the best boating lake.
in sunday school i sat behind my friends james and carolyn's new baby and she was sleeping with her arms in the air.
after church the kids and i took this guy to his new adoptive family's house.
they wanted to adopt him so we were prepared with all of his stuff and turned him over.
it was easy and clean and i am so glad to have met them.
i'm sure it will be a great fit.
the kids were great about it (so far).
for dinner we had the missionaries and a friend over.
our friend ryan is training for his first marathon - twin cities and i am excited to hear the report.
he said his 20 miler is next saturday.
ah, i love talking about running.
i actually have been talking to more women from church about running.
i'm thinking of getting a group together to do a race in the next few months.
i have a few in mind.
oh and i made soup tonight for the first time in months.
it was a perfect night for it.
soup, homemade wheat bread with honey and jam and a fragrant and tasty berry fruit salad.
this little cutie had i think 6 bowls of my soup.
they were little bowls but still.
do you like baby shower games?
when was the last time you ate soup?
-what kind was it?
48 minutes insanity max cardio
3 mile hot mid-day run before the boat ride
swim in the lake - probably 30-40 minutes?
